Subject: Measurement Intercepts & AMOS error message
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;

Dear list, I am testing measurement invariance of a factor structure across two groups. In addition to the factor loadings I have constrained the item intercepts to equality in both groups, but I want to freely estimate just one of the item intercepts in both groups. To do this I used the Object Properties box of the relevant items and deleted the two equality constraints (group 1 = i1_1 and group 2 = i1_2). However, when I try to estimate the model I get the following error message: "An error occurred while fitting the model. In the 'Manage Models' window, or in your use of the Model Method, you referred to a parameter i1_1. However, there is no parameter named i1_1" I'm not sure why this error message has occurred or how to fix the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Kathryn
