Hi Jack,

Well the list is the first stop to check whether the guy is real or not, it is by no means the final source.

You can also email SAS who holds the list of SAS certified individuals.

You can also check their certificates if you really want to pursue the issue. They come in both soft and hard copies.

I am quite sure in places where SAS programming is common, the certification is not a big deal and never a serious consideration in selection of candidates.

However, in some Asia countries, certifications might offer a slight edge and even offer job placement opportunities for holding the certification.
