Subject: big conservation news - Brawley Mountain
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
Hi folks,
Well it is now official - the appeal period has ended for the decision to go ahead with management at Brawley Mountain. So work will begin this fall!
For more news on our efforts to prevent the loss of Golden-winged Warbler from Georgia, see http://www.atlantaaudubon.org/iba/#announcements
This is a project of Georgia Department of Natural Resources Non-Game Division, and the United States Forest Service. It has been supported by many birders and the Georgia IBA program.
Thanks to the many of you who wrote letters of support, and have shared their observations with us. We may be asking for more monitoring help in the future.
Now, since the economy is picking up, don't forget to do your part to have as much positive influence on habitat as the hunters do:
1) buy a duck stamp
2) donate to the Georgia IBA program
3) donate to the DNR non-game division
4) donate to the Nature Conservancy
5) buy a bunch of land and get an easement!
Cheers,
Charlie Muise
Georgia IBA Coordinator
