Subject: Help me find an ancient SAS distribution

Hello All,

For the last 5 years or so I have been looking for a SAS distribution that would run on one of my MicroVAX II's in my MicroVAX II Museum (http://www.microvax2.org).

I have contacted SAS public relations and a couple of regional SAS offices asking for help obtaining a magnetic tape with a SAS distribution from the 80's on it, but unfortunately they have not been able to help me. Nothing like that has come up on eBay for years, and a few corporates I contacted could not help me either.

But I refuse to give up - there must be quite a few SAS distribution tapes tucked away somewhere waiting to be discovered. All I need is for SAS/BASE and SAS/STAT to run. No commercial interest of course - just preservation of a small bit of computer history.

I would need to have the thing licensed in order to run, and I don't know yet how it would all come together, but first things first - I still don't even have a distribution tape.

So if anyone can help me find a SAS version (5.0?) that would run on VAX/VMS 4.7 or 5,1, I would be most grateful.

Thanks!! -Alon.
