Sounds like a fair solution. We have a decent spam filtering service here at my work, but obviously it would be better (read: simpler) if this problem were handled at the 'source', so to speak.

I'm just curious if there isn't some way to avoid posting our readily 'scoopable' email addresses on the web, without some alteration in order to render them anonymous. (For instance how some email address are written ___at__dotcom.)

Not sure what the feasibility of this is, but it might be worth looking into, I mean, who wants spam along with all this valuable SAS knowledge, right?.

Like Arthur, I use an account separate from my work account for email lists (and for personal stuff too). It's a gmail account, and while I get a lot of spam, thanks to the filtering, I see almost none of it. (I just checked my spam folder - it's filtered about 30 emails today. None have got through, there were no false positives. [I don't usually check for false positives - there is no need].

I have no idea how good the other free email providers' spam filtering is - it might be as good, or better.
