Graduate Student Internship — Summer 2010
The Freshman College Summer Experience will offer a paid graduate student internship beginning in mid-May and ending the first week in August (actual program dates are June 27- through July 30, 2010). Throughout the program, some evening and weekend work will be required. The experience will expose a graduate student to a learning community administered within academic affairs, while providing the opportunity to collaborate with student affairs. The Freshman College gives regularly admitted first-year students the chance to experience the University of Georgia prior to the beginning of their first fall semester. FCSE students enroll in six semester hours while participating in activities and events organized by program staff.
The primary focus of the internship will be assisting with the planning and implementation of the Freshman College Summer Experience. The graduate student will also gain knowledge of administrative roles in an academic support unit and become familiar with services provided to students on campus. Detailed information about the Freshman College Summer Experience can be found on our webpage at http://freshmancollege.uga.edu.
