Does anyone have any information on how to use the SYSINP= system
option?

Although this option is documented all the way up to SAS 9.2, the
actual interfacing between SAS itself and the program specified with
the SYSINP= option appears not to be documented.

Does anyone have a code sample they would be willing to share?
