Does SAS support random file access in general and specifically to Oracle or SQL type databases? From some who use SAS to access these types of databases, I hear they have to download the whole DBs (in some sort of a flat file before using it). But if there is a possibility to have direct access to some fields in the DBs it could save time downloading and transforming...
