This March the graduate student body will be voting for next year's Graduate Student Association President, Vice President, and Secretary positions. Currently GSA is looking for masters, doctoral, law, or veterinary students who are interested in running for these officer positions. If you are interested in being a candidate or want to receive more information, please notify the current GSA President, Robert Shostak, at gsa@uga.edu by March 19th. More information about the positions and the tentative election schedule is below.
The GSA President serves on a variety of University Council committees, advocates on the behalf of graduate students, works with other leaders around Georgia, and helps organize events for graduate students. This position is a 16-hour per week assistantship, which provides a tuition waiver, monthly stipend, and would start July 1, 2010. The Vice President and Secretary aid the President in serving on these committees and other initiatives the President wants to pursue.
