Paul,

All of the vendors below offer their products on Windows and have for a long time. Windows 7 is not a server so I would normally not expect a DBMS there except for lite versions. Certainly the DBMS vendors offer their wares on Windows Server line and traditionally have supported the desktop versions as well. Windows 7 is probably forthcoming but may not be there as of yet since it was just released a few months ago.

I have also seen very large booths from IBM and Oracle at the Microsoft conferences so they not only support them but sell their wares to that crowd. They also have deep integration with .NET for Windows development.

Alan

Jack, What do you expect SAS to do in terms of supporting SAS/Access to DB2, Oracle, or Teradata under Windows? Methinks this note http://support.sas.com/kb/38/128.html simply reflects the obvious fact that all major database vendors consider Windows as an OS woefully inadequate as a platform for their products and therefore never offer them on anything but UNIX and z/OS. SAS offers SAS/Access support to all of them on all platforms where they exist. SAS doesn't support DB2, Oracle, or Teradata in 9.2 under Windows 7? Seems like a major omission.
