You can define and copy and paste value labels in Variable View of the
Data Editor. Click the Values cell for one of the variables to define the
value labels, and then copy and paste to the other variables after you are
done.
Alternatively, in syntax:
value labels <varlist> 0 "not at all" 1 "several days" ...
etc.

repeat value labels

Hi,
I'm new to SPSS. (Windows XP, PASW 18 grad pack) I imported my research
data from an excel file. It has the variable names and data values and am
now filling in the other data properties. Multiple variables have the same
value labels and I want to "cut and paste" instead of entering them
repeatedly. I'm using point and click (I don't know how to use syntax
yet-not even the basics). The variables have 4 levels: 0=not at all,
1=several days, 2=more than half the days, 3=nearly every day.
Thanks for any help,
Jan
