Subject: Take 2 - seems like take one did not translate well -- CSMI HUNG
WAITING ON ENQUEUEs
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"
I’d like to run this by you –
Please refer to Reference # 1108204 on IBM. Title is: CSMI TASK HUNG WAITING ON ENQUEUE FCDSRECD WHEN USING DPL. Link: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21108204&myns=swgother&mynp=OCSSGMGV&mync=R
We are not doing DPL per se. We do not issue LINKS to programs for them to run remotely. We do run transactions remotely. We just had a major lock up on CSMI tasks in one of our regions. We had a similar problem about a year ago and got nowhere in solving the problem. I just found the document I referenced above. Here is my scenario.
TOR starts transaction in AOR.
Application wants to write to a TRANSIENT DATA QUEUE. TDQ is defined in the AOR to be REMOTE to another AOR (more like a Printing Owning Region – POR). In the POR, the TDQ definition is local and set to trigger a transaction to run in the POR.
I did not take a system dump – I will if it happens again to see what else I can find. But my gut feeling is that my situation is similar to the one in this technote. Perhaps two tasks are writing at the same time to the same TDQ in the POR and that they lock each other. Then other CSMI’s are waiting for them … and then they lock two people, and they lock two more… and so on and so on.
Any thoughts? Think it could be related? Got any other ideas for me to look into?
Anything will be greatly appreciated – esp since my local sounding board is on leave!
THANKS!!
