Carla,

So the file is already defined to CICS?

There are already CICS-COBOL-programs accessing it?

Are we looking at intranet users (or at least already authorised by other means)?

Does the other side have any infrastructure? IOW: Browerbased inquiry is straight forward and needs only a browser...FTP needs a client, MQ needs clientssoftware as well.

Maybe they only need the changed records?...there are free offerings from IBM that do that.

Here is an answer that assumes YES YES YES NO NO as answers to my questions:

CICS/TS webaware is very easy (this is not a program as web-service, but a new program - maybe with some filter-options)---also very very suitable to get a programmer from other platforms (with HTML background) introduced to CICS.

O- one more: Have you checked if any of your MF-software (for file-display) does have a browser-based interface?
