Seminar Description:

Want to learn about the fast track avenue the Presidential Management Fellows Program and other job opportunities with the Federal Government? Plan to attend the workshop about the Presidential Management Fellows Program, which is coordinated on campus by the Career Center. Detrice Munir from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be the guest speaker.

The Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program was established to attract candidates into Federal service from a variety of academic disciplines and career paths. This program provides an overview about the PMF Program and application process, including general information for applicants, how to apply, the processes for nomination, assessment, and appointment, and common mistakes when applying. Your Speaker: Detrice Munir, MPH, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Detrice Munir is currently the Acting Branch Chief for the Management and Policy Fellowships Branch (MPFB) in the Division of Leadership and Practice of the Scientific Education and Professional Development Program Office. The branch manages both the Presidential Management Fellows Program (PMF) and the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) for CDC. In her role as Acting Branch Chief, Mrs. Munir handles all issues related to personnel, recruitment, and budgetary oversight while providing consultation to PMF and ELP supervisors.

Mrs. Munir began her career at CDC in 2003 through the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) as a Public Health Intern. Mrs. Munir earned a Masters of Public Health degree in Health Policy and Management from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Clark Atlanta University.
