Hi All,

My team at the NYC Dept. of Education is looking to hire a Policy Analyst. The Policy Analyst would be responsible for both short-term, ad hoc analytical and longer-term statistical research projects—all related to the use of student outcomes data in education policymaking. The ideal candidate can work independently to develop concrete, data-based answers to abstract questions, work quickly and with attention to detail, and present results with clarity. Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets are required, and experience with SAS or other statistical packages and SQL is preferred. Prior relevant experience could include graduate work in statistics, economics, quantitative public policy, or other related areas, employment in quantitative consulting or finance, or high-level data-based policy research.

If you are interested, please send you resume to sbucher@schools.nyc.gov .

Thanks, Scott Bucher Director, Business Intelligence and Analytics School Performance Team, NYC Dept. of Education
