I want to add my feelings of horror and disgust; I am sickened by this event. I also want to underline the importance of NOT reporting these birds if you are lucky enough to see them in the wild. Not reporting them to anybody. Not. Not. Not. That's just a challenge to some disturbed personalities.

Remember, DO NOT publicize the location of any whooping crane found in the state. These messages are public and can be read by anyone, even those with sick minds. I don't know if this was one of the cranes mentioned in a recent article in the Rome newspaper, but perhaps it's time for a news blackout until the birds move on. I hope this killing was not related to the ones in south Georgia. Some SICK individuals are out there, let's not help them by publicizing whooping crane locations.
