Subject:      Statistical analysis after grouping
Content-type: multipart/alternative;

Hi,

I have to analyse a scientific data base with a multitude of variables.

For this, I want to group my data (e.g. with/without a special laboratory measurement) and after this (!) compare different variables of these groups (e.g. with t-test).

I know how to open the syntax editor and to execute simple code. But for building complex codes I am at my wits’ end. I have already searched and tried out some syntaxes on Raynald´s SPSS Tools page and also searched the listserv-page, but without real success.

I do not know, whether/ how to group my data and afterwards handle the results for statistical analysis. (How) Do I have to create new variables in new data sheets and compare these to each other?

Perhaps there are some people who could help me with this (I use SPSS Vers. 18 for Mac).

Thank you very much!

Greetings from Kiel, Germany!

Kai
