Subject: American Bittern, Lamar County
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi folks,

Sorry for the late report, but on Thursday, June 30, I saw an American Bittern in a field in northern Lamar County. The field is on Fox Road, which is literally the border between Lamar and Spalding. I was fighting a grass fire, when I heard the bittern call from only about 30 yards behind me. I heard it a 2nd time, then saw it fly over my head.
