Frank, it would be beneficial to other list members if you added /how/ the
problem was solved.  In this case, I assume it was via the VARIABLE WIDTH
command.  ;-)   Here's the help file example:

VARIABLE WIDTH sales95 sales96 (10)  / id gender (2).
