Subject: ORAS Bird Walk at Sandy Creek Park - Athens-Clarke County
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1
The Oconee Rivers Audubon Society will host a bird walk this Saturday,
March 26th, at 8:00AM at the Sandy Creek Park in Athens-Clarke County.
I believe that Sandy Creek Park will be waiving the $2.00 admission fee
Saturday morning for those attending the bird walk. If you stay to use
the park afterwards you should pay the fee.
We will be meeting in the farthest parking lot on Campsite Drive across
the dam.
Please use the farthest parking lot as parking right near the camp sites
is limited.
Information about and directions to Sandy Creek Park can be found at:
http://www.sandycreekpark.com
Sandy Creek Park is located at 400 Bob Holman Rd Athens, GA
30607 which is about 4 miles north of the Athens Bypass on US441.
No experience is necessary. Birders of all skill levels are welcome.
Walks typically last 3-4 hours though participants may leave at any
time. The walk will be 2 to 3 miles of moderate to easy walking. You
should wear practical shoes and dress for the weather. If you have
binoculars you should bring them. Insect repellent, snacks and water
are strongly encouraged.
