Patrick Addy and I birded the horse park this morning and, despite a dearth of warblers, had pretty
decent diversity (including some transients I only see occasionally on the property). 60 species.
Highlights:
Wood Duck 14
Mallard 8
Blue-winged Teal 9
Northern Shoveler 1, first eBird record for the property
Green-winged Teal 3
Pied-billed Grebe 1
Great Blue Heron 1
Great Egret 11, a nice count for mid-October here
Northern Harrier 1, I've only seen them here in fall
Cooper's Hawk 3
Chimney Swift 2
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 4
House Wren 1
Marsh Wren 2, one in the Big Haynes Creek wetland, the other in the "Mane" St powerline cut
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
Eastern Bluebird 40
Common Yellowthroat 6
Magnolia Warbler 2
Palm Warbler (Western) 6
Pine Warbler 9
Yellow-rumped Warbler (Myrtle) 12
Indigo Bunting 22, active in the powerline cut and in the pastures
Eastern Meadowlark 2, also strictly a transient here
