Usually when I do this (meaning clear the log), I am getting ready to click
the run icon so I already have my hand on the mouse. Still, I am glad to
learn of the Cntl E.

To clear the log window (or any window) I just press CTRL-E.
Much easier than taking the hands off the keyboard and finding the mouse.
