One way is: Before entering code, press [ENTER] and type '.' On a new line then get back one line and start typing your code remembering the '.' Be used as end of command.

Now, the really irksome functioning thing. Ever since spss enabled syntax checking, what you see when you type or paste is not what you typed or pasted until you mess around with the cursor (or insert a '.'). I think I have error checking turned completely off because I have everything unchecked in the Options -> syntax editor box. I'm sure a lot of people love

the error checking but ... no. So, the question is there anything that can be done to make the editor display what is typed in 'real time', without delay?
