Two updated items: The SPSSINC CREATE DUMMIES extension command has been enhanced. This command creates sets of dummy variables for values of categorical variables with accompanying macro definitions. The new version, which is available in the Extension Commands collection, can also create dummy variables for two and three way interaction terms, which can also include scale variables. SPSSINC CREATE DUMMIES is included in the Python Essentials package, but the current version of the Essentials does not include these enhancements.

The getSpssInstallDir function in the spssaux.py module has a small bug fix.

These materials are free for download from the SPSS Community site at www.ibm.com/developerworks/spssdevcentral.
