About the sas remote browser:

Under a windows isolated sas session there is no need to a sas remote browser but for example in our case through an x11 screen opening an interactive sas linux session on a server when you submit a pgm with any return other than text like a graph in html or even were trying to open any page from the sas help menu

you have to have a local service running called "sas remote browser " (which can be regulated on IE or Firefox or default) in order to have an automatically opening of the results outside the Output screen in the results screen.

This is a big new feature in 9.2.3 The opening is active -- under windows-- and no more inside a larger gnome screen and the user can continue working with office directly on the result (excel word... are specific to windows!) i think therefor you need to have a mounted access or view to your linux/unix ressources (files...)
