Augusta-Aiken Audubon had a field trip to Merry Brickyard Ponds in Richmond County today. We concentrated primarily on the expressway ponds only giving cursory examination to other areas. We had a few Dunlin still hanging out there. The highlights though were 25 Canvasback, 11 Redhead and 2 Common Loons.

We found a large flock of Cormorants and Gulls feeding and as they moved away some Great Egrets came in and started feeding. They didn't however land but picked fish from the surface of the water while flying! I managed to get it on video which can be seen here:
