Mark, Ron, et al,
I'm still holding onto several training manuals, an old and yellowed Proc Tabulate manual as well as a few other choice tidbits. Last year I dumped the IBM manuals from my z/OS Performance Tuning and Capacity Planning career as the probability of ever working in that field again continues to converge on ZERO! I did keep my Merrill MXG guides though.

Ron,
Not sure if you were joking or not
SLUG was SAS Library Users Guide -- documented contributed programs My last copy was dogeared and heavily annotated when I decided it was useful only as a memento of the good old days.
It is interesting to hear about all of those old manuals.
For years, I jealously guarded my 20 linear feet of manuals and SUGI Proceedings even though there were many duplicates and more than a few still in shrink-wrap.
A few years back I started trying to give them away and was shocked that it was difficult to do.
Finally in Fall 2010 in preparing to move across the country (NY to OR) I was heartsick to be compelled to contribute 10 "BankersBox" full of SAS manuals to the local recycling paper shredding facility.
I believe I kept two boxes of manuals, but I'm not sure since they're all stacked up with book boxes in my garage.
