Subject:      SPSS 6.1 Mac PPC problems

I'm running SPSS 6.1 Windows in a PC Lab and SPSS 6.1 Mac PPC in a
Macintosh Lab. At least, I would love to be running it in both labs.
Unfortunately, the PPC version never works.
 
After consultation with a statistics consultant, it seems I need to remove
4 items from the SPSS Preferences Folder and then empty the trash before
running SPSS in order for it to work. These items are automatically
generated on launching. Besides that, there seem to be some Extension
and/or Control Panel incompatibilities. Can anyone help me to make this
work easier?
 
The items I need to delete before launching each time are:
 
SPSSMac.ini
spssfdm.log
SPSSBeng IPC Port Archive
SPSSFrong IPC Port Archive
 
Any ideas? Anyone run up against the same or similar problems?
