The toolkit is really nothing more than a set of routines that can be
used with a SAS/C compiler (actually I think the routines support a
few languages, but I would think that C is the mainstay). You can
build some pretty slick procedures, but they would still only work
within SAS.

Subject: Making Executables

Someone suggested to me that it is possible to
to make executable files using the SAS toolkit.
I had a hard time believing this could be a
standalone app since the overhead seems as though it
would be enormous.
After reading the documentation the toolkit appears to
be composed of compilers, and intended to supplement
SAS by allowing generation of user-defined functions,
rather than the creation of apps that draw on the power
of say, SAS/STAT or SAS/GRAPH.
Can someone familiar with the toolkit
verify this for me?
Thanks,
Mark
