Editors

Just some comments

I use six to nine SAS editors 'edit windows' at once. Usually three edit screens per server.

I use virtual desktop --------------------- | srva | srvb |srvc | -------------------- to isolate the SAS sessions. Just click on the server ICON and my Sun monitor reflects the new SAS session. The desktop is located in the lower right of my screen using only .5 x 1.5 inches.

All my files are avaiable on each server.

I split my screen (17 inch Sun monitor) in half with a font that gives me two pages of text ( 80 cols by 60 rows).

I usually keep the DMS editor on the right and the notepad editor on the left. I use the SQL window as the third editor.

I use srva for code development, srvb for AF 'production' execution of code developed on srva and I use srvc for the case tools and documentation. Case tools provide flow charts, data and table dictionaries, and my verbiage.

There are some little deferences in the editors. You need to use .sas extention in the notepad and sql windows. Also the width may be different in the SQL window.
