Subject: CR in comma delimited file
I'm having trouble reading a comma delimited text file.
SAS reads in all the variables correctly but will not read more than one
By using a do loop like: do i = 1 to 5000;
input x $1. @; put x @5 x $hex2.; end;
I've ascertained that the observations are separated by a Carriage Return
(0D in hex). Thus, I would like to get SAS to recognize the Carriage Return
as the delimiter between observations. I would greatly appreciate ANY ideas
as to how to do this.
note: I *have* succeeded in reading all the data by first saving the text
file in MS Word. However, I'm hoping for a solution that doesn't
involve going outside my SAS program.
Thank you in advance for all the great solutions,
