I don't know many details about this, but I know that it is in
principle possible to transfer .sav files directly, as I have
had a number of users email them to me, and have successfully
saved them and opened them right up in SPSS for Windows. I've
also had such files (and others) come in as encrypted or
encapsulated pieces or attachments, which Microsoft Mail is
generally incapable (at least at the present time and under
our current configuration) of successfully decoding.
When sending one here internally, I can simply insert the file
as an attachment. If your mailer allows this, give it a try.
