Subject: Macintosh Macros
Some time ago, a poster requested help in running macros using SPSS 6.1 for
the Power Macintosh. The advice from SPSS was to place the macro close to
the desktop so as to minimise the length of the path name. I think I have a
better solution. As I understand it, the INCLUDE command, which is used to
boot a macro, is written to the journal file. On a hunch, I moved the
cancorr macro to the area on my Mac where the journal file is kept--the
SPSS folder in the Preferences folder in the System folder--and, voila, the
macro ran beautifully. I don't know whether there is any logic to my
solution, or whether it is serendipity, but it works. Any comment on the
validity of my procedure from SPSS would be appreciated.
Hope this has helped someone.
