Hello Ben,
You need either SAS/CONNECT or SAS/SHARE on your remote machine. SAS/CONNECT
will allow a single user access to the remote data and a SAS/SHARE server
will allow multi-user access.
A good reference on this is the SUGI20 paper by Cheryl Garner and Stephanie
Reinard on page 576 of the proceedings or in the book "Client/Server
Computing with the SAS System: Tips & Techniques".
