Subject:   SAS Access to Oracle: PC 6.11 to Unix
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Has anyone had experience using SAS Access to Oracle from PC SAS ver.6.11 to Oracle tables on a Unix box? The connection is through a Novell network.

I have been told that the only way to access the Oracle tables on the Unix box is to acquire a new site license for base SAS and SAS connect for the Unix system. It would then be accessed through SAS Connect.

Is this true if the systems are part of a Novell network? Can PC SAS Access to Oracle not access anything on the Unix system?

Thanks for any insights and advice.
