It depends upon the number and frequency of users. In (1) you will need a
license for every user (even if they only use SAS one time in a year). For
my Division that would mean 300 PC SAS licenses! Since a SAS server based
license is a 'concurrent' license based on server capacity and not users (2)
is far less
expensive.

Yes. The server I am talking about in (2) is the Unix server and the
SAS/Access is SAS/Access-Oracle. You would not need SAS/Access-Oracle on the
PC's however.
