Subject: Pulling a Random Sample using SPSS
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
I am using SPSS-PC for windows v 6.1.2 and need to pull a random sample
of 1,000 households from a mailing list of approximately 25,000. I know
select cases offers a random selection, however the documentation describes
this as a "pseudo-random sample". What does the "pseudo" mean in this case?
Any other ways to pull a systematic sample using SPSS syntax?
