Subject:      "Freezing" a variable in SPSS 7.0

Hi all,
 
I would like to to "freeze" a variable so that I can scroll across all the
other variables in my data file and still have the "frozen" variable appear
on the left hand side of the screen (i.e. it is a reference variable). Your
help would be much appreciated.
