Subject: cronbach's alpha and princals eigenvalue

I produce a number of scales with a Spss Princals, so the variabels are weigthed and the categories quantified. Usually a cronbach's alpha is mentioned to show internal consistency. Is it possible to calculate the alpha from the eigenvalue of the princals-solution?
