Subject:   TeleForms .sav file -> SPSS 6.1.1 Macintosh

I am having trouble getting data from TeleForms on the windows platform to SPSS Mac. The data are scanned, translated correctly by TeleForms, and saved manually as SPSS .sav files. SPSS 6.1.1 on the Mac does not recognize the .sav files and therefore will not load the data. As a workaround, I have saved the data in Excel .xls files, opened them in Excel on the Mac, saved them (without modification) under another name on the DOS diskette, and then opened the new file with SPSS 6.1.1 on the Mac. SPSS recognized the .xls files created by TeleForms as data files, but opened them incorrectly. I also tried to export the data in ASCII files, but SPSS did not recognize those either; Excel did and I was able to use the same process I used for the .xls files.

Does anyone have a suggestion about how I can export data from TeleForms so that SPSS will read the files directly without having to take the intermediate steps through Excel?
