I have some difficulty in getting clearly interpretable plots from alscal (MDS) in SPSS 7.5. The problem is that a three dimensional MDS produces one 3-d plot. Interpretation of this plot is difficult. In Alscal it is not possible to produce three 2-dimensional plots. However, this can be resolved by saving the stimulus configuration into a system file, read it and use the procedure PLOT. Then, I can produce three 2-dimensional plots. However, then another problem occurs because the legend of the plot only displays 12 point while the plot itself has 30 point. So, 12 points I can't identify. Or I should look at the stimulus coordinates. In SPSS 6.1 you could SET HIGHRES=OFF. It works, but not anymore in SPSS 7.5. My question is: how can I get PLOT to produce the entire legend, or how can I get the variable identification in the plot itself?

Thank you
