Subject: Tukey's HSD post-hoc test output
Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
I am a new SPSS user and I am having trouble interpreting/reconcilling
the Tukey HSD Multiple Comparisons and Homogeneous Subset reports.
1. My ANOVA showed significant f-tests for 6 variables (significant
mean differences between at least one group). On the Tukey HSD output
report, for one of the variables the Multiple Comparisons test showed
no significant differences between the subgroups. In addition, while
the Multiple Comparisons report showed no significant differences, the
Homogeneous Subgroups showed significant differences.
2. On the Multiple Comparisons report, some of the larger mean
differences between subgroups were not significant, while some of the
smaller mean differences were significant (also standard deviations were
comparable).
Can someone help me interpret these outcomes? Am I reading the report
incorrectly? I'm attaching my output file.
Thanks very much,
Laura Heft: heft@swbell.net
