I did get a private reply from someone at SPSS that stated there are no
current plans for updating SPSS for the Mac because of technical problems
of porting from one platform to the other without rewriting from the
ground-up. It's a shame because SPSS was one of the first Mac stats
programming packages on the market, but it has not kept up with the other
platforms. And with half the world convinced that Apple is going under
(which it's NOT!!!) I can bet that it's a tough sell to the suits to invest
the money to upgrade. Maybe we can get Steve Jobs and Bill Gates to give
the higher-ups at SPSS a pep-talk.
