As some of you may know, I edit the marine section of New Species in CONCH-NET. If you did not and would like to check it out, the URL is <http://coa.acnatsci.org/conchnet/edunewsp.html>.It is my belief that one of the most important services COA can provide to its members is to keep them abreast of the latest conchological discoveries.

For those of you who have been frustrated because you could not find there the latest species that YOU KNEW had been described, the reason is simple: we get only a few of the periodicals where new species are published, and we can publish only what we get. As of now, we are exchanging issues with La Conchiglia, Basteria, The Nautilus, Apex and Spixiana, and have received occasional issues of other periodicals.

This message is a request for help from those of you who do subscribe to periodicals not listed above and which publish new species. I am asking you to contact me PRIVATELY and tell me which magazines you receive. After I get the information I will answer you PRIVATELY how you can help. Perhaps there are other editors of malacological journals who may be interested in exchanging? I am sure the Conchological Cyber-community will be greatful.

Please, help CONCH-NET be even better than what it already is.

Thanks,

Emilio Garcia
