Subject: How to use DDE in SAS to read MS Access
Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset=US-ASCII

A SAS for Microsoft Windows question regarding DDE using SAS as the server and Microsoft Access as the client.

I've read and wrote Microsoft Excel spreadsheets using DDE and would like to at least read Microsoft Access tables or queries in a similar fashion. I've gotten as far as getting SAS to open the correct Access table or query, but don't know how to get the data transfer started.

Is it possible? I was trying to see if it can be done without having to license yet another SAS product to read a common PC file format and not going through ASCII conversions.
