A couple weeks ago, I wrote to the list to ask if anyone had experience using SPSS's Neural Connection neural networks software. I think that I did not send the message to the correct address, because I have received no responses. If this is a repeat, my apologies to the list. Here is the original message:

Greetings,

I work for the Center for Urban Research, a think tank affiliated with the City University of New York Graduate Center. We are trying to use the SPSS Neural Connection software, specifically the Kohonen network module, to identify space time clusters in crime data. We have found the documentation poor, but on the other hand, we are not neural network wizards.

My question for list is what has your experience been with the Neural Connection software? Has anyone successfully used the Kohonen network module? Are there particular resources you found helpful?

Responses on either the list or privately would be greatly appreciated.
