Subject: Re: Contracting Salary in the Boston, MA / Southern NH area

Hi Brent,

A ball park estimate is to take the yearly salary of a programmer with similar experience at the company you are considering, and divide that salary by 1000, the result is your hourly billing. You should get this amount regardless of any agency cut.

ie Programmers at CompuCraft with your experience would make about $50K ( Greater NY/NJ/CT area ). CompuCraft would pay $50 per hour. If the agency is willing to take you on for $5 overhead then you might have to settle for $45.
