Subject:   Binary=Interval variable?
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Is it legitimate to always consider a binary varible (coded 0,1) an interval variable and use the appropriate measures/tests? For instance, if you have two binary variables is it alright to use the Pearson correlation coefficient as a measure of association between them? Many thanks in advance, John Nawas.
