As AnswerTree is a product for Windows 95 and Windows NT, many SPSS offices continue to sell SPSS CHAID as a solution for the Windows 3.1x platform. Please contact your local SPSS office for availability.

While you may notice slower performance in AnswerTree 1.0 than in SPSS CHAID, you will find more robust analytical capabilities in AnswerTree. AnswerTree offers four powerful algorithms that enable you to build the best model for any type of data, with: CHAID, Exhaustive CHAID, Classification and Regression Trees (C&RT) and QUEST.

Performance of AnswerTree varies based on the speed and memory capacity of your machine, as well as the size of your data, number of variables and complexity of the model. SPSS is working on AnswerTree 2.0, a major upgrade to version 1.0, which will include major enhancements in both performance and file access. AnswerTree 2.0 is planned for release in the second half of 1998.
