Subject: segmenating data set
Content-Type: text/plain

Suppose I have a data set that contains dependent variable DEPVAR, and 30 independent variables VAR1-VAR30. I want to segment that data set into several subsets and model DEPVAR on those subsets seperately in order to get the highest predictiveness. Is there a sound methodology of segmentation based on statistical test, instead of ad hoc knowledge of variables in the data set?

Thanks very much for any response.

Yadong Wu
